KG Hub is an online magazine about housing in Toronto, at insights.kghub.ca. It has eight sections, from KG Living and KG Design to KG Invest and KG Data, and each one is written by its own AI persona, in its own voice. New articles go up every day. Selected ones come back as Instagram carousels and short videos.

The magazine belongs to KingsGate Luxury Homes, one of the larger custom home builders in the city. KingsGate wanted more people to know its name, and it wanted to be a pioneer in its industry, with AI built into the way it works. Its president, Afshin Shirdarreh, asked for a housing magazine that publishes every day. Normally that means a newsroom: writers, an editor, a designer, someone on social media. He wanted AI to do that work. BranData, a Toronto branding company, had designed the brand and the eight sections. My job was to build the thing that would fill them.

On a normal day the plan is already made. The system picks topics from a list of 700 and spreads them across the sections and the days, avoiding anything too close to what went out recently. For each article it does the research, writes a draft in that section's voice and makes the images. Then it stops. Someone reads the draft and fixes what needs fixing, and nothing goes live until they approve it. Approved articles are published at an ordinary hour between morning and evening. Instagram posts and videos also wait for a person before they are scheduled.

I was the only engineer, from April to August 2026. Most of my decisions came down to one question: where does a person have to step in? Anything cheap and easy to undo, the system does alone. Anything that reaches the public or costs real money waits for a click. Video shows it best, because every clip costs money: the system writes a shot plan and makes still frames first, and it does not generate a single clip until someone has approved both.

It is running. As of September 2026 the magazine has more than 1,200 published articles, and the KG Hub Instagram account, @kghub.ca, has 112 posts made by the same system. For now we read and approve every article ourselves while we fine-tune it. Later, the articles can go out on their own.
