My own personal-finance app, in one file on my computer, open source once I clean it up
Gringotts is my own personal-finance app. It keeps everything in one file on my computer, with no cloud and no account: it imports bank statements, sorts spending into categories, tracks money I lend to friends, and follows transfers between accounts and currencies without counting them twice.

When I moved to Canada, everything about money was new: a new bank, and a credit score I had never had. I was nervous, and I needed to get hold of my own finances, so I built an app that keeps them on my own machine.
I download a statement from the bank and drop it in. Gringotts remembers each account's format, skips anything it has already seen, and suggests categories, learning only when I confirm. Transfers between my own accounts are matched so they do not look like spending, and loans to friends are grouped per person, so I know who owes what.
It was also fun to make. Whenever a new AI model comes out, I make a small project to test it, and Gringotts was one of those: about three hours with one of the models that had just been released.
